The Spirit’s Hibernation
in the Ocean of Qi

Retrieve the Intent into the Cinnabar Field. This success depends on the power of one’s Gong and is not an issue of three or five days.

This is the Skill of moving the Spirit into the Cinnabar Field and let it stop there. This is absolutely necessary. Bring the Intent back into the lower Cinnabar Field. Send the void and non-existing original Spirit, the sixth sense, lightly and gently into the the person’s true breathing place, hibernating and hiding in the centre of the Kun furnace.

“The purpose is utmost and extreme calmness,
reaching the farthest point of serenity.
Sinking within sinking;
Tranquillity within tranquillity;
Non-existing and no non-existing;
First preserving and later perishing.
One must undergo numerous repetitions to grasp this.
At last make the body and mind sink into stillness
arriving at the native place of having and non-having.
Only the sixth sense exists there.”

At this time a tiny amount of the True Intent, the void spirit’s character luminescence immerses and hibernates in the deep abyss and below the nine springs, which is the source of water in the Kidneys. This means that whiteness manifests within the original blackness. True essence is the innate nature and the True Intent is the life-destiny.
The nine springs symbolize its sheer depth and bear no relationship to the eight trigram theory. This analogy can be attributed to the thirty-six heavenly realms and eighteen earthly mansions.

Let the character luminescence subside and be without movement. Stop it and let it shine in the lower Cinnabar Field:

“And it transforms into non-existent existence, point zero,
the centre of the ‘Awakening to the Dao’ map.
As if a turtle hiding in its shell, as if a snake hibernating,
Spirit and Qi embrace each other in unification,
eternally composed and calm.
Take care and look after it,
preserve and store it,
protect and safeguard it,
shelter and defend it in the in lower Cinnabar Field.
It is called ‘the Arrival at one’s Self Earth’.
The Self Earth signifies the True Intent.
Once True Intent arrives, one then enters the grounds of farness and in-distinction,
the place of abstruseness and profoundness.
Post-Heaven breathing stops and one welcomes the ‘Gate of Pre-Heaven Qi’.
The orifice of the Mysterious Pass breaks open and the True Seed is generated.”
