女功简便法

Simple and convenient methods for Womens Gong[1]

每于夜半子时以后,天然醒觉,心不着于色相,又不落于空亡。

Every time when in the middle of the night, after the Zi time[2], one is naturally being aroused, the Heart-Mind should neither be affected by forms and appearances, nor fall into empty death.

自觉月窟生潮,正是一阳来复,即将神气收于乳溪,回光返照命宫,塞兑垂廉,捧乳吸气,左右揉搓,下则牵动阴户,上则贯通两乳,一呼一吸,息息皆要归于命宫。

Of its own initiative the moon cave[3] generates the tide[4], this is precisely one Yang coming to return[5], then promptly take Spirit and Qi and retrieve them in the breasts’ stream, return the light to reverse the illumination on the Palace of Life[6], block the mouth and close the curtains[7], cup your breasts in your hands and inhale, rub them to the left and right, below it will affect the Yin door[8], above it will link together the two breasts, one exhale one inhale, breath after breath all should return to the Palace of Life.

每次运行七十二息为一周。

For each movement, circulate the orbit for seventy-two breaths[9].  

前六时下功,后六时静养。

For the first six time-slots[10] practice Gong, for the last six time-slots[11] nourish in stillness. 

每次运讫,要咽津三口,送入子宫。

At the completion of every movement, swallow your saliva in three mouthfuls, and send it into the Palace of the Child[12].

日日按子前午后,阳气发生之际,常常行持,直至前三后三之期,再行炼形之功。

Day by day, massage before Zi and after Wu[13] when the Yang Qi manifests, constantly move and maintain, until the Time of Three in the Front and Three in the Back[14], then carry out the Gong of the refinement of the form.

修炼不过百日,月事即绝,乳头即平,而面如桃花,终日如醉,昏昏默默,昼夜灵光不散,静中自觉常明。

Not exceeding one hundred days of cultivation and refinement, the menstruations are severed, the nipples are flattened, and the face is like a peach flower, all day long as if intoxicated, in the dark and silent, day and night the Divine Light does not disperse, in the midst of stillness naturally awakening in constant brightness.

行持十月,自有信法来报,予知吉凶。

Apply and maintain for ten months, naturally a sign of the method delivers an announcement, bestowing the knowledge of the auspicious and the inauspicious.

初将精血收归乳房,随收随揉,使提上乳房这精血尽化为甘露,降下丹田,结成胎息。

First take Essence and Blood and retrieve them back to the breasts, rubbing while retrieving, causing this Essence and Blood that were raised into the breasts to entirely transform into Sweet Dew[15],  that descends into the Lower Cinnabar Field, to congeal and turn into the Embryonic Breathing.

则月水不潮,而乳头自平矣。

Then there will be no more tide of the monthly waters[16], and the nipples will become flat by themselves.

下丹田内自然给出圣胎,不用采取之功。

In the Lower Cinnabar Field naturally the Sagely Embryo will set out, there is no need to carry on the Gong of picking and fetching.

只凝神胎息之中依灭尽定,而寂灭之。

Only concentrating the Spirit during Embryonic Breathing leads to complete stabilisation, and to silent extinction.

寂照百日,恍惚之间,而圣胎似有动转之机。

Silently illuminate for one hundred days, amongst absent-mindedness, so that the Sagely Embryo reaches the crucial point of engaging in revolving movement.

其女子如醉夫之状,目常合而懒开,面发光而耀彩,日夜金光罩体。

Such women are as if in the condition of an enraptured person, their eyes closed and lazy to open, their faces radiating light and emitting splendour, day and night a Golden Radiance covers their bodies.

养至十月,圣胎圆满,自然脱质成仙神。

Nourish until the tenth month, the Sagely Embryo is wholly consummate, naturally it sheds physical matter and becomes Immortal Spirit.

变化莫测矣。

Unfathomable transformation !

[6] ‘The Palace of Life’ is a name for the Lower Cinnabar Field (Dan Tian 丹田).

[7] ‘The curtains’ represent the eyelids.

[8]The Yin door’ is a metaphor to designate the vulva.

[9]  Seventy-two is a symbolic number that calls upon the principles of the Eight Trigrams and the Nine Palaces. The practice however should be carried on until desire has been transmuted completely.

[10] The time-slots represent the pathway of the orbit within the body. The first six time-slots represent the upward trajectory of the orbit.

[11] The last six time-slots represent the downward trajectory of the orbit.

[12] ‘The Palace of the Child’ represents the womb.

[13] ‘Before Zi and after Wu’ means according to the circulation of the orbit’.

[14]The Time of Three in the Front and Three in the Back’ represents the completion of the orbit once it has been through the Three Passes in the back and the Three Dan Tian in the front.

[15] ‘Sweet Dew’ represents the Elixir.

[16] ‘The tide of the monthly waters’ represents the menstruation.
