16.07 – 30.07: Fundations of Internal Alchemy and Water style Tai Chi (TaiJiQuan)
30.07-03.08: Daoist study/travel with Li Shifu

 

Daily schedule:

Early morning: longevity qigong training, standing meditation

After breakfast: water taijiquan

After lunch: theory/alchemy classes

After dinner: meditation

 

Water Tai Chi (TaiJiQuan) 

  • Tian Ma Tai Chi (33 movements form, water style training methods for longevity)
  • Song Ti (muscle and tendon relaxing technique)
  • Chan Si (silk reeling)
  • Standing meditation to cultivate Qi (Tai Chi pillars)
  • Sitting meditation to cultivate stillness and accumulate Qi
  • Tai Chi theory, Qi Gong theory, Longevity theory
  • Additionally HaHa Gong (Detox and immunity qigong exercise)

Foundations of Internal Alchemy

(Dan Dao – Elixir Way) for Longevity

1. Foundations of Internal Alchemy (Elixir Way – Dan Dao) for Longevity, basic theories:

  • Objectives
  • Purpose
  • Requirements in regards to diet, conduct, ideologies and regulations during the four seasons, the four times and the four forms (moving, standing, sitting, lying)
  • Microcosmic Orbit Explanation: Foundations

2. Essentials of Scriptures on Internal Alchemy (Dan Dao)

In priority, 3 essential scriptures :

  • Cultivating the Dao’s 49 Barriers
  • The Scripture of Purity and Tranquility – Qing Jing Jing
  • Essentials of the Shortcut to the Great Achievement – Da Cheng Jie Yao: Foundations

Overview and explanation of important points of the following:

  • Dao De Jing
  • The Hidden Talisman Scripture – Yin Fu Jing
  • The Law of the Heart of the Dragon Gate – Long Men Xin Fa
  • Scriptures on the Elixir: Female Alchemy basic theories
  • The Yellow Court Scripture – Huang Ting Jing
  • Internal Landscape Map – Nei Jing Tu
  • Fasting and abstention from grain: opportunity to fast depending on the student’s interest and physical condition
  • Subdue breathing

3. Moving-Still Qi Gong

  • Standing Meditation Practicing Qi methods, Sitting Meditation Nourishing Qi methods, Sleeping Meditation Fostering the Origin methods

4. Opening the gate, pointing out key points, secretly lighting of the internal fire

The Great Master said:

“The Mysterious Pass has one opening; the center of the opening contains subtlety.

It comprises movement and stillness, the void, the divine, the profound and the mysterious.”

Students’ Requirements:

  • Basic Foundation of sitting meditation and/or cultivation of stillness (any type)
  • No diseases or disabilities
  • Vegetarian Diet. Monastic discipline (adhering to the temple’s precepts)
  • Destiny to learn from the master

Purpose and meaning of studying the Internal Alchemy – Dan Dao course:

To let everyone understand the path and methods of Chinese Daoist cultivation;

To elevate everyone’s understanding of Daoist cultivation and the ability to distinguish the levels of the methods of cultivation;

To open the great door of our thoughts, to let us find a direction, find the value and meaning of our existence in the midst of the chaos and the illusory changes of society’s life, to explore the true reality of life and the truth of the universe;

To strengthen one’s energy field and frequency of vibration, to cultivate a heart of compassion, a heart of love, a heart of forgiveness and inclusivity, the capacity to eat bitter, the willingness to help others and to be of service to all living beings.

The purpose of the Internal Alchemy course is to study principles and methods, so as to later have the opportunity to unify the body and the higher self, to sublimate oneself, thus creating a true body, the Body of Immortals, attaining the Dao.

Daoist study/travel plan:

The purpose of travel is to learn and explore Daoism, and to understand the history and culture surrounding this ancient art.  As Li Shifu rarely leaves the temple gate this is a rare opportunity to travel alongside him to Daoist and China’s sacred locations.

General Overview: Wudang Shan 2 days, Henan the birthplace of Lao Zi 2 days.

1.Wudang Shan: (2 days)

  • Middle Monastery (Zhong Guan 中观庙): At the starting point of the cable car that leads up to the Golden Temple on the top of the mountain, Zhenwu was studying internal alchemy and cultivating here.
  • Golden Temple: (Jin Ding 金殿): The Golden Temple is at the top of the mountain, there is a magic lamp in the hall, whose light never went out in thousands of years, everyone who goes to the top of the mountain prays here silently.
  • Purple Cloud Palace (Zixiao 紫霄宫): The largest temple in Wudang Mountain.
  • Five Dragon Palace (Wulong Gong 无龙宫): The oldest temple in Wudang Mountain.
  • Taoist Academy (道教学院): The place where Taoist priests study, visit, communicate and learn.

2.  Henan: (2 days)

    • Temple of FuXi (伏羲庙): Chinese myths and legends say that Fuxi, the ancestor of humankind, created Bagua. His mausoleum is known as the first mausoleum in the world, and it is also the birthplace of the dragon totem.
    • Taiqing Palace (太清宫): It is the birthplace of Laozi, the legendary philosopher and Taoist patriarch.
    • LaoJun Terrace (老君台):  It is the place where Lao Zi preached. Magically, when the Japanese invaded China, they fired 13 bombs at the house, but none of them exploded.
    • Shangqiu Ancient City (商丘古城): Shangqiu is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization. The ancient city of Shangqiu has a history of more than 4,000 years, it is the only existing large-scale ancient site in the world today, which is a trinity of Bagua city, water city and city ruins.
    • Fire God Terrace (火神台): Suiren is the first person to make fire manually in China, this is place where he made fire by drilling wood. During the Great Flood, Yan Bo assisted Yu in water control and was conferred the job of managing fire in Shangqiu. People respected him as the “God of Fire”. Yan Bo was buried here after his death.

 Anyone honestly interested in taking part in this course is required to submit an application (download here). The decision for acceptance will be made within 2 weeks. After the student is accepted, the deposit must be made in order to secure his/her place in the course.

If for some reason students decide not to stay at the temple, the deposit will not be refunded and they must leave China, since the responsibility for their visas falls on the temple. If a student is unable to attend the course, we reserve the right to keep the deposit as this may have taken an opportunity away from someone else to join the course. If for any serious, unforeseen reason (family bereavement, etc.) you are unable to attend the course, the deposit can be used towards another course (same or different) in the current year or the next year.   • Integration of Heaven, Earth and Man in Nature – a comprehensive course of study
  • Yin Yang theory, Five Elements theory
  • Contraindications and requirements
  • Acupuncture, acupressure, massage, moxibustion, prick – bleeding, scraping, cupping, fire healing, Qi Gong healing method, and music healing
  • Herbal formulas
  • Identification, gathering, combining and processing of medicinal herbs: 60 commonly used herbs to heal 40 types of diseases
  • Longevity training (a set of 9 movements)
  • Healing Qi Gong (set of 5 movements and application methods)
  • Expelling Toxins Gong
  • Standing meditation to cultivate Qi
  • Sitting meditation to cultivate stillness and accumulate Qi

Purpose and meaning of studying the Daoist Medicine course:

To study a complete and integrated system of foundational theories, skills and healing methods of Chinese medicine and Daoist medicine;

To understand the differences between Chinese medicine and Daoist medicine;

To study ancient secret methods of natural energy healing.

To heal one’s body in the midst of studying; in the midst of practice, to elevate the level of one’s self-healing skills, and the capacity to be of service to all living beings and to help others by alleviating their suffering.

Furthermore, to obtain a legal certificate issued by the Chinese government to engage in healing work.

Requirements

In order to allow the contents to be taught quickly and effectively, upon receiving course deposits, studying material will be sent to the student to prepare for the class. For this, please consider registering as early as possible so you have enough time for preparation.

CERTIFICATE (optional)

Upon completion of the course, the certificates of completion will be granted.

Optionally for those interested, we will assist you to obtain a certificate approved by the Chinese government. The additional cost of obtaining a government certificate of completion is 1990RMB
