Wu Yin Yang Sheng Gong

Sound Medicine Conference

Suzhou, China

Unique. Stimulating. Maddening. Thought-provoking. Mind-bending. Generous. Heart-warming. Curious and unforgettable…

These are words that come to mind in light of the past few days. I never imagined that I would have the opportunity to attend an event where advanced bio-medical technology was on display, and most interestingly, to find that Sound healing technology stands among the giants of the worlds leading research into the advancement of medicine.

Our brief meeting with Grand master Shen Wu brought many insights and many questions in respect to Daoist Medicine:

Does music unify Yin and Yang?
Can music be projected through time?
Does the Po and Hun respond more strongly to the healing tones than any other method used in Daoist medicine?
Do people carry the memory of music in their field?
Can the healing tones be used in conjunction with the star of David hand seal?
What are the most beneficial sounds issued by nature?
How do the inaudible radio waves from deep space objects like pulsars and quasars affect our consciousness?

The language barrier and absence of interpretation created another interesting examination, how much of this knowledge can I absorb on a purely vibrational level? Can I absorb the transmission of knowledge through the finely tuned instrument of Master Wu’s voice alone?

Choosing to trust the integrity and Guidance of Shifu, my Daoist teacher, I met with this opportunity to learn to keep an open mind to stay receptive to the world beyond appearances, because from my experience that is how great teachings call us to meet with our destiny at any given time. Attitude, therefore, can be my greatest ally in my spiritual growth. As Enelia Benz reminds me, the simultaneous dimensions of consciousness are running parallel rivers into which we can cross over, merge, unite and influence at any given time. I appreciated the choice to show the documentary before experiencing our meeting with Master Shen Wu. I understand it was a call to keep the channels of my mind open for what was about to come.

Grand master Shen Wu and Li Shifu

Nothing a spiritual teacher does is random and without reason. Though I maintain my own discernment and judgment, I trust the journey Shifu takes us on; and with delight that his unconventional ways provide me with joy and amusement.

The sound-wave is the root of 10,000 things.
“Music comes first, before medicine. Sound cleanses toxins, moves blood and qi. Medicine builds and strengthens. The song-wave is the root of 10,000 things…”

“In the beginning was the word, and the word was God.” Was it a sound wave that came from the void, disturbing the equilibrium of Wuji, to create yin and yang – the world of duality? Like we see in Cymatics, when a tone vibrates matter it forms into geometric patterns. In this case, a most unifying and total mandala, the Taiji symbol…”
