Purpose: To learn Wudang martial arts and longevity techniques, applicable for both combat and personal healing. Participants can address their physical issues, promoting overall health and well-being.

Course Contents and Schedule:

Theory Classes: Principles of martial application and combat methods. Methods for relieving pain including moxibustion, cupping, music therapy, qigong acupressure, and massage. Daoist etiquette and taboos.

Early Morning (2 hours): Longevity Qi Gong – Five forms (Expel the Old, Take In the New; Red Phoenix Facing the Sun; Five Qi Return to the Source; Dragon Claw Gong; Embracing the Origin and Guarding the One). Open the gate, clear the orifice, Rhythmic detoxification exercise 21-forms, Five Tones Healing Song with Guiding method, methods to regulate cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine issues.

Water and Fire Tai Chi Fist (Tai Ji Quan) and Self-Healing Course

Purpose: To study the ancient Eastern art of guiding and cultivating qi, in order to attain personal physical well-being and the ability to self-treat injuries. Kung Fu Tai Chi, used for martial arts applications.

Purpose and meaning of studying the Internal Alchemy – Dan Dao course:

To let everyone understand the path and methods of Chinese Daoist cultivation;

To elevate everyone’s understanding of Daoist cultivation and the ability to distinguish the levels of the methods of cultivation;

To open the great door of our thoughts, to let us find a direction, find the value and meaning of our existence in the midst of the chaos and the illusory changes of society’s life, to explore the true reality of life and the truth of the universe;

To strengthen one’s energy field and frequency of vibration, to cultivate a heart of compassion, a heart of love, a heart of forgiveness and inclusivity, the capacity to eat bitter, the willingness to help others and to be of service to all living beings.

The purpose of the Internal Alchemy course is to study principles and methods, so as to later have the opportunity to unify the body and the higher self, to sublimate oneself, thus creating a true body, the Body of Immortals, attaining the Dao.

Theory Classes: Basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), including Yin-Yang and Five Elements theory, meridian theory, and holistic Daoist health practices. Daoist etiquette and taboos.

Advanced Daoist Medicine – The Yellow Emperor’s Zhu You Method

(17 days, might include 3-day field trip with Li Shifu)

 

The content of study of this Daoist Medicine Advanced Level Healing Course is:

Tian Yi Huang Di Zhu You Shi San Ke, and its ancient secret transmission within Daoism.

The content includes precepts, prohibitions, requirements and methods to practice writing talismans, reciting incantations, and erecting an altar, so as to use those methods to heal many types of diseases.

The purpose is to be able to establish a channel, to obtain the help from higher levels energy fields to give healing to others, and become a true shaman-doctor.

Requirements for Advanced Level Healing :

  • Strict observation of precepts
  • Elevation of one’s own heart of love, compassion, forgiveness and inclusivity
  • Willingness to use the skills and methods studied to help other people
  • Daily practice of Early Morning Qi Gong and Evening Sitting Meditation to accumulate Qi
  • Students must reach a good foundation in pronunciation of Chinese pinyin

Purpose: Learn the ancient and mysterious methods of using talismans for medical purposes and communication through rituals as practiced 2,000 years ago.

Erecting an Altar allows Zhu You practitioners to commune with the universe’s energetic fields and the higher wisdoms. The Zhu You method involves hand seals (a.k.a. mudras), rituals, talismans, and incantations (a.k.a. mantras).

Morning (2.5 hours): Study and practice of healing incantations and talismans used in the Zhu You method. Application of these methods for treating various illnesses.

Afternoon (2.5 hours): Continuation of incantations practice, healing talismans, and the application of the Zhu You method. Hands-on practice with talismans, rituals, and medical talismans.

Evening (1.5 hours): Healing Qigong – 5 forms, Submerging and Floating pillar. Sitting meditation cultivating stillness, Lying Dragon meditation, Lying Dragon meditation.

Travel and Study Tours are arranged based on different situations. Due to weather or other special circumstances, the study tour may be changed or canceled.
The temple is responsible for transportation fees. Students are responsible for entrance fees, meals, and accommodation costs. (The itinerary may change or the study tour may be canceled due to weather or other special reasons.)

Purpose: The purpose of travel is to learn and explore Daoism, and to understand the history and culture surrounding this ancient art. As Li Shifu rarely leaves the temple gate this is a rare opportunity to travel alongside him to Daoist and China’s sacred locations.

Locations: Possible 2 to 3-day field trip to some of the following locations after a course: Wudang Cultural Research Center, Daoist Academy, Wudang Mountain, Fuxi Mausoleum, Laojun Terrace, Zhang Zhongjing’s Former Residence in Nanyang. More informaction about the travel plans click here.

If you have enrolled in two or more consecutive courses, the time between these courses can be used for volunteering and staying at the temple for free.

If needed, students may stay 3 to 5 days before or after a course free of charge.

The minimum number of students required for this course is 8. We reserve the right to cancel the course 2 months prior to course commencement if the requirement is not met.  Anyone honestly interested in taking part in this course is required to submit an application (download here). The decision for acceptance will be made within 3 weeks. After the student is accepted, deposit must be made in order to secure his/her place in the course.

If for some reason students decide not to stay at the temple, the deposit will not be refunded and they must leave China, since the responsibility for their visas falls on the temple. If a student is unable to attend the course, we reserve the right to keep the deposit as this may have taken an opportunity away from someone else to join the course. If for any serious, unforeseen reason (family bereavement, etc.) you are unable to attend the course, the deposit can be used towards another course (same or different) in the current year or the next year. The course fee is 23300 RMB and the required deposit is 9900 RMB

Discount policy:

Students who have previously attended courses can return for revision without paying tuition fees. Accommodation and meal costs of 100 RMB/day are still to be paid.

Senior students who are able to help with the courses can stay at the temple free of charge which is subject to Shifu’s prior approval.

OCTOBER 21 – NOVEMBER 6

Kung Fu – Wu Dang Five Dragons Heavenly Dipper Dragon Heart Sword (24 Movements) and Natural Healing Methods

(17 days, might include 3-day field trip with Li Shifu)

 

Purpose: To learn the use of various tools such as long and short staffs for self-defense, and the ability to self-treat injuries.

Course Contents and Schedule

Theory Classes: Historical lineage, development, and current status. Practicing routines on the “Flower of Life,” methods for pain relief including fire therapy, moxibustion, cupping, bloodletting, music therapy, acupressure massage, and herbal prescriptions. Learning Daoist etiquette, taboos, and auxiliary herbal prescriptions for enhancing skills.

Early Morning (1.5 hours): Longevity Qi Gong – Five forms (Expel the Old, Take In the New; Red Phoenix Facing the Sun; Five Qi Return to the Source; Dragon Claw Gong; Embracing the Origin and Guarding the One). Open the gate, clear the orifice, Rhythmic detoxification exercise 21-forms, Five Tones Healing Song with Guiding method, methods to regulate cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine issues.
